Founded in 2016 by the visionary architect Deniz Bidav, Stone Solution began its journey rooted in extensive industry experience. Before establishing Stone Solution, Deniz honed her expertise working for an array of esteemed entities, including the LEGENDRY 100 years old Italian STONE company Poggi Bros, the major tile and stone distributor MS International, and several other key players in the Maryland and Virginia area. Her profound knowledge and passion for architecture and design laid the cornerstone for what would soon become a beacon in the stone industry.
Originally launched as a retail store in Chantilly, Virginia, Stone Solution was a sanctuary for exclusive brands such as AKDO and Mir Mosaic. The company quickly became a trusted partner for thousands of homeowners and designers, undertaking numerous retail and commercial projects. This rich heritage laid a strong foundation for our transition to a wholesale operation.
The evolution of Stone Solution took a significant turn with the addition of Deniz’s husband, Mike Toraman, as the Chief Operating Officer. Mike brought a wealth of experience from his tenure as a Project and Program Manager for IBM, specializing in large-scale datacenter operations and design. His architectural background and operational acumen have been pivotal in steering the company’s day-to-day successes.
As the demand for our distinctive offerings grew, so did our team. Aykut Adem joined as Chief Sourcing Officer, bringing over two decades of natural stone manufacturing experience from Europe. His expertise has been instrumental in expanding our direct imports of tiles and natural stone, enhancing our product range and operational efficiency.
The onset of COVID-19 marked a pivotal moment for Stone Solution, with a surge in demand for hardscape stones, particularly travertine and marble, for pool projects. Recognizing the need for superior quality materials that withstand the freeze-thaw cycles, we shifted our focus towards premium travertines and marbles tailored for the North East region.
In 2024, we embarked on a new chapter with the creation of our own brand, STONELUX ™ , solidifying our commitment to quality and brand recognition. Serving large-scale stone distributors and design/build firms in Maryland, Virginia, and the DC area since 2019, we are now expanding our operations across new regions. Our annual import volume reaches around 400 TEU containers, supported by a 40,000 sqft closed warehouse in Chantilly, Virginia.
