Black Basalt Corner Steps Connect a Sunken Lounge and Porcelain Terrace
Aldie, VA / 2023
About this photo
Black Basalt step treads connect the sunken fire pit lounge to the Extend Sand porcelain pool terrace. The broad steps wrap around a right-angle corner, with warm lighting beneath their edges emphasizing the change in level and the contrast with the pale paving.
Black Basalt coping continues the dark outline around the rectangular pool. Built-in cushioned benches flank the lower lounge, while the upper deck extends past poolside loungers toward a flat-roof pavilion.
