Frequently Asked Questions

What is Black Basalt Splitface Ledger Panel - 6x24 used for?

This product is used for vertical wall veneer applications such as feature walls, facades, fireplace surrounds, columns, returns, and outside corners. It should be coordinated with matching flat panels or related veneer pieces from the Black Basalt Collection when the project requires a continuous stone wall surface.

How does the Splitface finish look on this veneer?

The Splitface finish creates a raised, dimensional stone face with visible texture and shadow. It gives the wall more depth than a flat tile or honed slab surface.

Does this veneer need sealing?

Sealing is recommended for this material. Use a sealer appropriate for natural stone and the installation location, then reapply based on exposure, cleaning habits, and sealer manufacturer guidance.

How is the 6x24 veneer piece sold?

Sold by SQFT. Full box only (6 sqft/box). For estimating, count the wall area, corners, returns, waste, and any matching flat veneer panels needed for the layout.

What colors and design styles work with Black Basalt?

Black Basalt is listed with gray, black tones. Dark stone tones usually pair well with light walls, pale pool finishes, stainless or black metal, and restrained planting palettes for contrast.
