Light cream marble and warm Walnut travertine define this pool and outdoor living project in Loudoun County, Virginia. Created by xScape, formerly Deckscapes of Virginia, the backyard brings together a French pattern marble pool deck, contrasting travertine pool coping, a raised spa, and several places to gather around the water.
STONELUX’s Pera Cream Marble sandblasted pavers form the main pool deck. Installed in a French pattern, the combination of square and rectangular pieces adds detail across the broad terraces while complementing the pool’s straight lines.
The marble’s light cream tones provide a bright backdrop for the blue water and warmer stone accents. Its sandblasted finish adds a matte, textured surface, while subtle variations between individual pavers give the deck natural character. The paving continues around the raised spa and connects the pool with the surrounding outdoor living areas.
Walnut travertine pool coping outlines the water’s edge in warm tan and brown tones. Against the pale marble deck, the coping creates a distinct border that emphasizes the pool’s rectangular shape.
Large Walnut travertine treads were also used for selected caps, carrying the same material into the project’s architectural details. Repeating the warm stone beyond the pool perimeter helps connect the coping, capped features, and surrounding terraces.
The backyard unfolds across several levels, with a raised spa, water features, and fire bowls adding focal points around the pool. A sunken fireside seating area creates a gathering place close to the water, while steps lead to a covered pavilion with an outdoor kitchen, fireplace, television, and lounge seating.
Geometric paving insets with dark outlines add another layer of detail to the terraces. Throughout the project, the light marble and warm travertine bring the separate spaces together, illustrating how marble pool pavers can pair with contrasting natural stone coping in a complete backyard design.
