About this photo

Black Basalt pavers form the dark charcoal floor throughout this covered poolside kitchen and lounge. Their rectangular joints contrast with the broad grey wall panels, pale countertops and warm wood-lined ceiling.

A long bar faces the raised pool, where a water curtain falls from the overhead beam. Steps beside a pebble-filled planter connect the sheltered seating area to the upper deck, making the change in level a clear part of the pavilion design.
